Sales Coaching PDF Print E-mail

Within three months of working with Melanie as a business coach I had:

  • Increased the number of accounts I was seeing every week by more than 60%;
  • Decreased the exchange rate for products I was selling by more than 50%;
  • Overcome many of my fears and self-limiting beliefs; and
  • Learned new techniques for listening to my clients and meeting their needs.

With coaching I've completed a first quarter with my best sales numbers:

  • 26% over last year's sales during this quarter of the year, and
  • 110% of my goal for this quarter.

Each session with Melanie, by phone or in-person, gives me specific things I can do right away to grow my business. Coaching with her is one of the best investments I've ever made.

Sales people have a particular set of concerns and needs. Whether they own their company or work for someone else, they all have the challenge of needing to be extremely self-motivated and self-disciplined in order to succeed. They need to stay "up," energetic, friendly, and positive, no matter what their clients do or say, and what their clients do or don't buy. This can either be exhilarating or exhausting, depending on how it's handled. To be most successful, sales people need to develop a strong sense of self, an ability to encourage and speak positively to themselves, and the flexibility to rebound from difficult or disappointing interactions.

Many sales people frequently change locations, traveling within a metropolitan area or geographic region. This can make it more challenging to maintain personal balance in terms of nutrition and exercise, and often creates additional stress as a result of being away from home, or simply being in constant movement, with very little "down time."

Very often, sales people need a place where they can "be real" in looking at what is and isn't working for them, correcting problems, exploring opportunities and new approaches, and taking the next steps in their business growth.

So what is this coaching service I offer for sales people? Here's what it's all about.

- I help you set goals for what type of changes you want to make within your business, or in your life as it relates to your business, and by when.

- We identify the beliefs that are supporting you in achieving these goals, and the beliefs that may be standing in your way

- I support you in aligning your beliefs to reach your goals

- Then we create a strategy that's appropriate for you, with steps you can take to get you where you want to go when you want to get there. This strategy may include a plan for researching your options and coming to a decision about your best path.

- We meet on the phone or in-person for 45-minutes either twice or three times a month.

- Before each session I send you a preparation email to confirm the time we're meeting and you email me back to tell me what's been happening between calls. This helps us make the best use of your phone time.

- In each session you decide, sometimes with suggestions from me, on actions that will move you toward your goals, and you give a time frame for completing these.

- After each phone call, I send you an email with the action items from that session and the date and time of our next call.

- In between sessions, if you have questions or want to give me an update, we stay in touch by email.

- In each session we follow up with your action items to discuss what's been completed and what's next.

- I keep an eye on the big picture of what you said you want to accomplish, and point it out if you seem to be going in a different direction. Then you decide if this new direction is the right one, or whether you want to stick with the original plan.
